Located at the heart of the stony desert of Hmada, Tan-Tan welcomes its visitors with two large stone camels standing guard over a calm, genuine town. Tan-Tan is a place where time has woven an ageless culture, and where the nomadic practices and the desert set the rhythm for life. This rhythm is particularly lively during the Moussem, a feast that celebrates the Saharan culture and heritage. Tents as far as the eye can see, glowing colors, sublime songs and dances: this is how Tan-Tan honors its culture and heritage. As such, its Moussem has been proclaimed in the Unesco's universal intangible heritage since 2004.
