The port of Safi is also one of the Moroccan capitals of ceramics. If you love dark blue pottery, don’t hesitate to visit the potters’ quarter where you admire the work of some hundred or so craftsmen. You may also visit the National Ceramics Museum in the Kechla, a former Portuguese fortress built in the sixteenth century. After your visit, climb onto the building’s terrace to admire the view of the town, port and medina. But Safi will also appeal to lovers of beautiful beaches and the sea. This is also an ideal place to go sea fishing, sailing or surfing. Safi is one of the top ten surfing spots in the world!
