YELAGIRI HILLS
Considered as the Ooty of North Arcot District, this stands eloquent amidst four mountains, at a height of 920 metres above sea level. VIRINJIPURAM
This magnificent temple dedicated to Lord Siva is famous for its devotees who throng here with ardent belief that a dream on the last Sunday of Karthigai month will reveal of their fortune of being blessed with an offspring. The Lion-faced Simmakulam tank is considered to be very sacred.
JALAGAMPAARAI
Jalagampaarai water fall situated 17 kms from 17 kms from Tirupattur is a fine picnic spot where the deity is in the form of VEL (a kind of spear). The morugan temple attracts the tourists throughout the year.
JAVADU HILLS
Jamanamarathur 40kms from Polur is the main village in Javadu hills which is famous for its sandalwood and fruits bearing trees; its altitude varies from 300 to 1000mts. The Beemanmadavu water falls in the thick reserve forest, 12 kms from here is worthy of a visit. Foot-path obstacles during the seasons may deter visitor to trek. Kavalur observatory, the biggest in Asia is worth visiting on second Saturday of the month by the tourists. The stars and planetary brilliance and the milky way- one can observe through the sophisticated and modern telescopes. The trek to Amirthi forest from here is risky but worthy.
