Khaptad is a part of western Nepal. The Khaptad National Park covers 225 sq Km of grassland and forested plateau. Khaptad Baba, a Hindu guru, lived here for many years.
A 5 Km area in the park has been reserved for meditation and tranquility , where butchering, alcohal and tobacco are forbidden. The habitat at the park provides good cover for bear, leopard, common langur, musk deer as well as many species of birds. Herbs with medicinal properties and wild flowers grow in this national park.
