The Changchun Film Festival
The China Changchun Film Festival is held from
August 23 to 28 every two years in the city of Changchun, capital of Jilin
Province.
The Film festival is mainly sponsored by the State Administration of Radio,
Film and Television, the Jilin provincial government and the Changchun municipal
government and co-sponsored by the Changchun municipal government and the
Changchun Film Studio. Abiding by the principle of "laying stress on
the mainstay of films, expanding the participation of the masses, intensifying
the cultural atmosphere and paying attention to film exchanges," the
film festival has embodied the purpose of "friendship, exchanges and
development."
The China Changchun Film Festival has been successfully held for four times,
showing its unique and elegant demeanor to the world and playing an active
role in promoting friendship between personages of Chinese and foreign film
circles, prosperity of the film undertaking, enhancing the cultural level
of the people of Changchun, expanding opening of Changchun to the outside
world, promoting the rapid development of the economic construction of Jilin
Province and Changchun, and displaying its strong vitality. The Changchun
Film Festival has created a good image of Changchun and set up a bridge
to the world.
