The biggest one is Mahe (144 sq km), which is granite. The other islands , including the biggest atoll in the world (Aldabra), are coral. After Mahe, the most visited islands are Praslin, La Digue, Bird, Fregate, Silhouette, and Desroches.
The name "Seychelles" honors the French minister of finance under King Louis XV.
Victoria, the smallest capital in the world is the economic and administrative centre of the islands, a typical lively Creole town, a melting pot of different races and cultures.
